Newest Members - Welcome!

We welcome our newest members to the SDPA.

Liz Paul - Liz graduated from UCLA's Attorney Assistant Training Program in 2002. After that, she made the brave venture of moving across country to Sioux Falls where she was employed at the Minnehaha County Public Defender's Office as a legal office assistant for over five years. Liz recently accepted a paralegal position with Davenport, Evans, Hurwitz and Smith where she specializes in worker's compensation, immigration, and civil litigation. When she is not busy at work, she enjoys spending time with her three young children and listening to her husband play music.

Victoria Swenson - Victoria grew up in a small town in Minnesota and moved to Sioux Falls to attend college.  She attended Colorado Technical University and obtained an associate degree in Criminal Justice in 2004.  She then obtained a bachelor degree in Paralegal Studies from National American University in 2006. She has worked as a legal assistant for the Boyce, Greenfield, Pashby & Welk law firm for the past two years.  Besides being a member of the SDPA, she is also a member of the National Association of Legal Assistants.  Victoria has been married for a little over eight years and has two children, Daniel and Kaitlyn, who just turned 3.  Her family recently moved to Colman, SD.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Sara Hoffman - Sara is a student at Globe University-Online and plans to graduate on March 25, 2011. She will be graduating with a Post-Baccalaureate Paralegal Certificate.  She is looking forward to getting involved with SDPA.  She also has a very spoiled soon to be 12 year-old Pomerian-Chihuahua named Gidget.

Lindsey Madsen - Lindsey is currently enrolled full-time in the Paralegal program at Globe University. She plans to graduate in June, but will continue to take courses so that she can earn her bachelors in Legal Science.  She also works as a part-time Nutrition Counselor at LA Weight Loss in Sioux Falls.  She has been with the company for 5 years, 2 of those years as Manager. She resigned from her management position to pursue her degree. She now works there for fun (and to build/maintain strong relationships with her clients and colleagues). Lindsey has a wonderful husband named Ryan, and two kids - Carson who is 5 years old and Chloe who is 18 months.

We welcome Liz, Victoria, Sara, and Lindsey to our association!

Again, we would encourage all of our members to contact other paralegals in the profession who may benefit from our membership. We have exciting seminars and provide an excellent resource for updating our knowledge of our profession.
