• Greetings,

On behalf of myself and the rest of the Executive Committee, I would like to welcome you to the South Dakota Paralegal Association and invite you to explore our website. The South Dakota Paralegal Association is an organization of paralegals whose goals are to advance the educational standards of the profession, encourage ethical and professional achievement and promote the paralegal profession. 

Great strides were made in 2006-2007 in clarifying the definition of a Paralegal in South Dakota. As a result of the hard work of our Professional Development Committee, changes to the state statute regarding the definition and qualifications of a paralegal in South Dakota are underway.  I would encourage you to review the Professional Development Committee’s updated report regarding the proposed statute changes.

There are many benefits to members and those individuals interested in joining SDPA including the opportunity to meet other legal professionals, attend educational events, further professional development, develop leadership skills and promote the legal profession.
